The Voice Season 1 runner up, Darren Percival is bringing his unique vocal looping and soulful voice to the 2018 CQUniversity Village Festival, thanks to Central Queensland University in partnership with Tourism Events Queensland (TEQ).
Festival Program Director Mr Jason Pfingst said that Percival was a seasoned Festival entertainer with a background in theatre and performing arts, well known to a lot of people from his appearance in The Voice.
“This is Darren’s second visit to the Yeppoon Foreshore, with a pop-up visit in 2016 surprising festival-goers during the Sunday afternoon performance with James Morrison.”
“Bringing Darren back will provide all our community with a better opportunity to get to know this great musician. Not only will we see Mr Percival impress on the main stage, he will also delight with a theatre appearance at our opening event and Big Band performances with the CQ University band,” said Mr Pfingst.
Weaving in and out of a cappella magic with music from his original albums, his live performances are spontaneous vocalization meets abundant sonic bliss.
Percival brings love to the table where there are no boundaries, no brakes, and at times no limits to the joyfulness propelling the audience into a frenzy.
Held on the weekend of 10-12 of August, all performances on the Yeppoon main stage will once again be completely FREE and open to the public.
The Queensland Government, via Tourism and Events Queensland, is proud to support The CQUniversity Village Festival which features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar. Queensland, just the place to experience Australia’s best live events.
