The Festival’s main stage will be on the iconic YEPPOON FORESHORE with other stages being hosted by a number of venues including The Strand Hotel, Rosslyn Bay Resort and Beaches Restaurant, The Waterline Restaurant Keppel Bay Marina and the Keppel Bay Sailing Club. The CQUniversity Village Festival moved to the Yeppoon Foreshore and into the heart of the CBD in Yeppoon in 2014. The other big news is that the Festival is FREE for the public to attend!
It’s hard to believe it was only last year that Yeppoon and the Livingstone Shire were struck by the worst natural disaster in the region’s history.
Fast-forward just 18 months later and Council is on the cusp of transforming the region into one of Australia’s premier coastal destinations and a bona fide tourism hot spot, through a strategic $53 million redevelopment of the Yeppoon Foreshore and Town Centre.
This once-in-a-lifetime project will incorporate new tourist attractions including boardwalks and lagoon pool, coupled with a much-needed multi-level car park all in a spectacular beachfront setting.
But perhaps most importantly, the revitalisation will open the Yeppoon Foreshore and Town Centre to cultural and artistic pursuits like never before by incorporating critical road and pedestrian connectivity, ensuring tourists and locals alike will experience a genuine sense of place, when visiting the Capricorn Coasts for events like the CQUniversity Village Fest.
And it’s happening now!
